my impression from others here was that the newer (05+) 9-3's are pretty reliable if a little flimsy on the interiors. the 9-5 feels a little more solid than the og 9-3, but not as nimble... my indy seems to think the 9-5 holds up better (based on the cars he's seeing)... but then again he prefers the c900s and 9000's... there are probably several reasons for that... personally I have my preferences, but other than avoiding early model years, any of these cars can be made to work well...
If you like the og9-3, why not go for it... they're cheap... just recognize most are reaching the diy phase these days... why would your 2000 9-5 die (and somebody else's 9-3 not?)? I have 2 c900s. They are virtually indestructible...
