what makes a Saab special to you?
It can't be platform uniqueness since that went out with the C900. The 9K is a co-developed model (I have 2 of them). The 9-5 is heavily GM-ized (I have 1), and the 9-3SS shares it's platform and various parts with several cars including the Saturn.
What makes Saabs so great is certainly the sum of the parts, but Saabs have used a wide range of parts from other makes for decades. Given that Hyundai is actually making some very good cars these days, riddle me this...
If one took say, a 274 hp Hyundai Sonata turbo, put Saab seats in it, did some chassis tuning, gave it a three-nostril grille, added a nice big hatch, did some work to make the interior a bit more European, and swapped the Hyundai badges for the Saab Griffin, what would it be?
