The procedure would be something like this:
- Turn the crank until the cams marks match up with marks on the head
- Release the tension on the tensioner by removing the small center bolt in the tensioner
- Remove the tensioner so that you can reset the arm
- Zip-tie the cam gears to the chain
- Remove the cam gears from the camshafts (Sometimes the gear is stuck and you will have to rap it pretty hard to get it off--however, it's never happened to me)
- Remove and replace the camshafts
- Reset the arm in the tensioner and insert (do not put the spring and bolt into the tensioner is mounted in the block)
- Insert the spring and bolt into the tensioner
- Check to see that the chain is taut
- Rotate the crank a few revolutions
- Set the crank to TDC and see if the camshaft marks still match up
Keep in mind that if you are going to zip tie the cam gears to the chain, it is not absoulutely necessary to start with everything ligned up. The cam gears a camshafts are keyed so that they only fit one way.
