1. By disabling the alarm siren via Tech II, it will permanently resolve the random triggering of the siren.
2. I can replace fuse #6 and enjoy my AC again.
3. The security system will function normally and use the horn when the alarm is triggered.
4. I will lose the chirp when I lock and unlock the car.
5. I still need to "turn off" the STA message using the Tech II setting.
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Not sure/depends (I think so, see below)
4. Not sure, my chirp is disabled- intentionally (I don't think the neighbors would appreciate it)
5. Yes
I had mine turned off twice. I had my SID rebuilt, then disabled the alarm siren. Then I sent my SID back under the rebuilder's warranty and I think I got a different unit returned to me. For some reason (don't remember what) I had to redo the programming. The guy that did it the first time didn't work at the indy I went to and the new kid was only able to disable the alarm by changing the location to "Europe" and, I think, specifying that there wasn't an alarm installed. I think in "North America" you can simply disable the siren and still retain the alarm functionality via horn.
