my dealer went to bypassing my center at 41k and I hated it. the engine vibration at low rpms and high torque (like turning in parking lots or running AC while idling or moving in parking lots) created terrible belt flopping noise very loud and audible to myself and everyone around. so much the dealer led me to believe the tensioner was bad at 90k and replaced it. that didnt help and was a waste of my $ at least at that time. although probably by 100k good idea to replace the tensioner anyway.

I like the long belt personally. I also am buying the pulleys as spares to keep on hand in case one goes. my upper idler went at about 88k. the center is the original so on borrowed time. although it wasnt used from 41k to 145k. car now at 161k so it has about 60k on it total. I have a spare upper on hand and my old short belt. if the center goes at least temp I can get by with the old short belt on hand. if the upper goes, I have it on hand. next time I order from eEuro and need to get more to get the free ship I will order a center. then an idler, etc. I'm gonna shoot for 200k for the next belt. if I make it, I'll replace all the pulleys and long belt then. hope I make it!! but I may get nervous before then!
