The manual for our '06 Sport says "for optimum performance Saab recommends AON 93" On the other hand one as long as the octane is 87 octane or higher no harm will befall the engine. If I remember correctly the manual for our '99 9-5 said that the engine was optimized for 91 octane. I have heard that any stock car sold in the U.S. in the last decade must be able to run on 87 octane without harm although the performance may suffer. Can someone verify this?
