The strain on the engine comes mainly
from boost, so if you shift early and apply
more boost you will not brake in the engine
as good as you could.
Rather rev to 3000, 3500, 4000 by simply uping
the revs every 300 miles by 500 rpm, starting at 3000.
Once you're at 4500 you should start using full
boost once in a while, and more often until you
reach enough miles to rev 5500.
Once you hit 5500 doing it this way you can use full
boost as long as you wish.
If you have a AUTO, use manual gear selection to
get the revs the way you need em!
Also, after a rough fast drive, like uphil, let your
engine rev 20 seconds before you shut it off, same
if you leave the freeway to get some gas.
Otherwise, simply shut the thing off.
OIL: 0W-40 to 10W-40 will be fine for non race track use
provided that its a high quality oil and that you change
it every 6000 miles.
Using 5W-50 is a good idea if you live in a HOT area
with high summer temps above 100F.
Regards,
Coolknight
