I went for the 2005 specifically for the reasons you site. The interior and exterior just look more Saab-like to me which was just personal preference. It is my third Saab and overall has been a great car and the most reliable Saab I've ever owned.
Mine has xenons and the optional rear seat heaters which I really like, and navigation which I don't care for. I hear it got better in the later cars...
The ride is not that bad, and the seats more than make up for it.
