why slightly larger to press in?
and won't I need a flat plate to press onto the hub once bearing is in the knuckle? so as not to push on the inner race alone?
here's my plan. see what you think? I have never pressed anything before:
1) freeze new bearing in freezer overnight?
2) completely remove knuckle and hub from car
3) not sure whether to attempt pressing off the hub or knuckle first? dont care about destroying the old bearing.
4) clean and place hub in freezer
3) clean and heat the knuckle in the oven for 30 min?
5) hoping might not even have to press bearing into knuckle but if so use socket or other jig that fits well on the outer race of the new bearing
6) heat knuckle and newly fitting bearing in oven for 30 min?
7) does new bearing fit flush with the knuckle? can I use a larger flat metal piece to press the whole knuckle/bearing over the now frozen hub? hoping it will go easily with the temp differences
thoughts?
