When I did these big control arm bushings on my 9-5, it was simply a matter of taking off the big nut and sliding off the whole bushing assembly. The nuts were tight, but the usual treatment with penetrating oil and a bit of heat on the nut with a small propane flame, carefully aimed, got mine loose. I did mine with the control arm on the car since I was not replacing the smaller front bushings at the time. Yours should be even easier with the arm clamped in a vise.
The new bushings I used (from eEuroparts) were a complete assembly with the aluminum shell. Do you have something different?
