Interesting timing here in my situation, just took delivery of Saab #9, 2008 9-5 Aero Sportcombi/automatic to replace #8 - '97 9000 Aero/manual. This '97 bought from original owner (Aeroguy) 1n 2002 with 33K on odo. He had the complete Abbott suspension mod-Koni's front/rear, special springs to replace the Aero units, the car was lowered about 1 1/2". I now have 157K on odo, without a doubt the most fun car I've every owned. I've had Koni's and Bilsteins in the past, like the adjustability of the Koni's, thought the Bilsteins were much too harsh. Koni front struts adjust easily with hood up (which I did many times to fine-tune the ride), rears are more involved, but I never had to adjust them. I'm impressed with the new Sportcombi's Aero suspension (and it is lowered, but not as much as the '97) and have not entertained going the Koni route-very close to my old '97 in handling, ride & performance. Bottom line, Koni's over Bilsteins...for what it's worth...good luck.
