Really useful: keep those cards & letters coming Posted by cork [Email] (#716) [Profile/Gallery] (more from cork) on Fri, 20 May 2011 09:05:37 In Reply to: rear suspension, cork [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 19 May 2011 15:31:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yes, it's ride height.
I'm still unclear as to whether this sag causes "toe" or "camber" problems (or both); but it's clear that whole end of the car has subsided in a bad way.
My tape measure tells me that my rear is 23.25" right and 23.00 left. I guess this confirms the suspicion that the springs were a little tired. So, whatever else is wrong, that sounds like a good place to start with some spacers.
Now the question becomes what to do about the bushings and other replacements since I am at 100k. It seems possible to me that when it comes to replacing most of the parts involved, the cost of disassembly/reassembly necessary for new spacers could be substantial portion of the cost of the eventual replacement of many of the items on the list. Is this true?
This was very helpful, so thanks to everyone; and, if anyone is so inclined, more thoughts and suggestions are eagerly sought.
