I was thinking about another way today when I was replacing the cable on an 01 9-5 Aero.
Maybe if it is possible to create a loop cable just between the starter and alternator lug bolts.
The Classic 900 had that for the years between 85-94 when it was in production.
The battery cable went from battery to starter and then it was a similar cable with its own lug rings going between starter and alternator.
So maybe if you cut off the cable where it comes out of the starter lug toward alternator and create a new short cable instead?
This of course is if the rest of the cable is corrosion free.
