In order to keep the MY04 pcv in tact you have to use the 04 throttle body since it is different and has a direct connection to the pcv system. I have read that the throttle body has the same electrical pin-outs and should work, but no one can say for certain.
I think I am going to try it with the MY04 pcv and TB and see how it goes. I can always switch things up later if I have problems.
Its interesting that Saab/GM went to the trouble of changing the block casting by adding the hole for the oil trap to solve the pcv issue. I bet that casting hasn't changed in 20 years. It does cause a problem though if I want to use the pcv#6 I would have to some how plug this rather large hole or use the later oil trap with the #6 set up. Either way I am going to document this for future users as I feel it is a great option for a clean sludge free engine.
