Transmission Mount - Curiousity Question

1999 9-5 2.3lpt at about 173K miles. I recently posted on doing a pretty major campaign of suspension bushes/struts, serpentine belt/pulleys, water pump/hoses, and upper engine mount. The one item that was left out was the transmission mount - it arrived a little late and I was out of time to install it.
I put the transmission mount in today, and I have a curiousity question. On Platonoff's web gallery he shows replacement of an early 1999 trans mount, which has holes for only two mounting bolts and an alignment Torx screw. The newer style trans mount in his picture has three holes plus Torx alignment hole. My curiousity comes because my late 1999 had a (worn out) three+one style mount, and the chassis has a matching hole for that third hole, but there were still only two bolts plus the Torx fastener 9all in correct spots for the old style setup). Not a big deal, but I was surprised that the chassis would have the hole but have it empty. Anyone else experience this?
