Are you planning to roll in a new chain and keep the old guides? If you need to change the guides or the balance shaft chain, the timing cover has to come off. People say you can do it without pulling the engine, but I was never able to get enough clearance to get all the bolts off the cover. I ended up dropping the subframe onto a cart and then lifting the engine off the subframe.
