I install the foam block first, DO NOT remove the slippery tape covering the glue strip, then slide the filter in. Yes, I know this defeats the tight seal achievable by using the sticky glue to adhere the foam block to the filter, but the foam still compresses with my method and I don't want to fight with the block and the AC lines with the foam block attached to the filter.
