Exactly - a real oil pressure test is the next step. I am wondering if 5w30 is too thin of oil to be using? I was searching the web last night and found on a Vauxhall 3.0 V6 site, several owners experiencing "sticky or stuck" oil pressure relief valves. Apparently this is a possibility? If the pressure relief valve sticks open, at an idle too much oil (and pressure) is bled off, resulting in a low oil pressure condition. I guess that could explain why the problem appears to have corrected itself. If that's what it is, I be it's a major project to inspect the oil pump's pressure relief valve? Going to drive around town today showing our Great Niece more Oregon site. I'll be listening for the warning ding. :-)
