Hi,
Yes, having the ECU programmed with the latest upgrade available now has solved the problem completely!
I before made a one hour drive with another 3.0 TID, which has run without noticeable problems. The mechanics at my dealer meanwhile have transferred the lastest update available to the ECU.
I now have driven another several hundred miles and the benefits are obvious:
1. There is no more increase in rev level when releasing gas pedal as initial action on shift operation
2. While shifting, rev is decreasing immediately to lower rev level of higher gear and remains there for another 1-2 secs (as it is supposed to).
3. No stalling engine on ample start
4. Smooth and steady increase in power upon acceleration until rev limit
5. Smooth idle
While I still am in doubt, that an ECU update program can deliver such an significant amount of increase in overall performance, I'm finally satisfied, that everything has come out fine. Though, there is still some headache left, if there was not another reason for this kind of bad behaviour, which I'm not aware of, and which SAAB or my dealer will not let me know of ...
Anyway, my dealer has been very helpful for solving the problem when I insisted, that there is one.
At least knowing, that someone else had the same solution of the problem makes me sleep better too.
Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Christof
