ABS ring replacement SUCCESS!!!

Probably my most ambitious SAAB DIY yet.. the drivers side ABS ring had cracked and was causing low speed ABS engagement and I suspect rough low speed shifting as well (trans uses the wheel speed data). So I found a replacement ring online ($70) and proceeded. The old ring was toast. For those not wanting to face this, I would suggest you spray some light rust preventative like Rust Check on the ring when you change to snows. The rings rust as well as the outer CV..water collects, more rust, freeze thaw and they eventually crack. My right side ring is in much better shape so I will see if preventative measures will keep it healthy. The alternative was a new outer CV + labour as I did not have the confidence to do that one. Total with tax would have been about $600 vs the ring plus a 32mm socket.. so YAY!!! I have earned a beer or two. (oh.. about 5-6 hours as I was going slowly and carefully.)
