I run 205-55-16 in winter Posted by FrancoisM [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: 17" winter wheels? 205/50r17? thoughts?, James, Thu, 22 Sep 2011 01:38:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I cannot compare to the tire width of 225 (or 235 required on our 2008 aero) since these are my only winter tires. But I can tell that I would repeat this choise anytime.
I have studded hakkas mounted on steel 16" rims, to drive in Quebec. They are getting noisy after 40K Km of use, but there is still plenty of thread to grip on snow.
I strongly suggest to find another set of rims. This allows you to switch of tire at the moment you desire (avoiding the rush at the tire shop). And for many other reasons that you probably already know.
