All,
First and fore most know my posting here is intended to help others that are considering another SAAB. Based on the questionable postings that some have felt they needed to add to my prior posts I thought it prudent I share the due diligence I executed before buying the 2010 9-5 Aero.
Tenets I based my process on
1) Has to be comfortible
2) Has to be safe
3) Has to have utility
4) Has to have back up assistance
5) Has to be economical
6) No pre-favorites (Actually I started with an anti-SAAB position as I didn't like the radically different styling and my sense GM had undermined the product.)
What I looked at
1) Infiniti models (Sedans)
2) Lexus models (Sedan and SUV)
3) Mercedes models (E350 sedan and wagon)
4) BMW models (535XI sedan and Wagon as well as the 3 series X wagon)
5) Volkswagon Jetta wagon
6) Toyota Venza
7) Volvo (Wagons)
8) Audi (A4 wagon new and used, A6 wagon used, A5 and A6 sedans new)
9) and a bunch of other makes and models I took out for ha ha's just to see what they were like (examples are the Buick Lacrosse and Enclave)
I took a long time and in many cases took multiple test drives and extended test drives (Dealer gives you the car for a half day or more.) The car that most impressed both my wife and myself was the 2010 9-5 Aero.
So before you are compelled to write a discouraging post please consider executing your own due diligence over several months (I took a year and a half) as you might be just as surprised as my wife and I were and continue to be with the 9-5 Aero. The one luxury we did not get in the 2010 9-5 Aero was heated back seats but we felt we could live without them.
I have had Corvettes, Triumphs, Porsches, a 1966 Mustang convertible, and many other cars and none have created the attention that this 2010 9-5 Aero does.
