this past weekend.
He found that the motor couldn't turn with ANY resistance.
Playing with it, he noticed that the motor shaft had a slight amount of longitudinal play, just enough to make a snapping noise when pushed in.
He pushed it in, hooked up yesterday, and it seems to have some torque capability. His father-in-law (I'm merely his technical advisor) helped with initial removal, he's waiting for him to finish reassembly.
Five years ago, when his wife was considering a new car, he was impressed by my 2002 Aero SW. They picked up a 2001 SW and she just LOVES it.
His father-in-law works on a lot of cars, and is usually impressed by the design of SAAB parts.
