I've used these on Passat and Jaguar XJ. They are a great value as they favor ride over handling; does not have the "stiffness" of Bilsteins, as the valving is set up to smother small to medium impacts. They do seem to need a few hundred miles to get fully smooth. And they do seem to adjust for loads; it's a subtle difference. You might also look at KYB as they very much favor ride. Very long-lasting in my experience. The Koni may well be an excellent choice; my only Konis were all very firm, but less jiggly than Bilstein.
