Have you done the diagnostic?
Press the AUTO and OFF buttons simultaneously. The ACC will display any fault codes in its display. There are a host of problems with blend door arms, servo motors, etc. with this system. They can all be repaired, but you've got to know what it is you're looking at doing.
So you're saying that 58 degreed F, the car gets too hot? Very hot? but at LO, it gets too cold?
Does your outdoor temperature display function and report accurately? If that works, has any work been done in the overhead (by the "Fasten Seat Belts" light)?
The outside temp sensor reports to SID, and SID sends this to the ACC. If that is wrong, the ACC could be very confused. The overhead contains the interior temperature sensor. In an automatic system like this, if that sensor is not working, but everything else is, it's still trying to heat up the car because it thinks it hasn't gotten to 58 yet. But when you get to "LO", that overrides or ignores the temp sensor, giving you full cold.
That's one possibility, but reading the codes is the first thing you should do.
