I have one stationary 9-5 model in my drive since the key is lost and new keys can't be ordered? : ) I have a twice unit and matched remotes but there she sits. My solution may be to swap the out the ingniton key but that still leaves me without a door trunk/key. I saw that ebay has un cut keys, but is it possible to cut a ket to match my ingntion without a template?
I wish I had known that SAAB was on the verge of bankruptcy. Within the past month a local dealer (I think Saab of North Olmstead)in conjunction with a television station gave away a 9-4 away recenlty in a promotion. The Owner of the dealership said SAAB makes great cars and they are here to stay. Looks like the owner may be giving more of them away in the future, but at least on line they don't seem to be discounting them yet.
Unlike other recent makes that have been discontinued such as Oldsmobile, Ponitac, and Mercury I am not sure we are going to have any dealers to help us that are going to be able to help us.
Today, I placed a part order with a unamed sponsor to this site. They said that they have been very busy with dealers calling them for parts.
I also have Oldsmobile Bravada and Mercury Mountaineer. So far getting parts for them has been okay. I was even able to get a new door for the Bravada due to a recently collision from a drunk driver. Several GM dealers have refused to provide service. I found a very nice Chevy dealership in Brookville, Ohio who has been willing to help me. They even updated the ONStar to a digital system.
I am sure there will be some goody indy shops, but I think it is going to be an entirely different situation with SAAB and GM dealers. I doubt a caddy dealer will be willing to help with a 9-4 eventhough they may share some similar parts:( I love my SAABs but it makes me sick to have two in my drive now.
