RPM limited to ~3800 when cold? Posted by jgARC03SW [Email] (#1216) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jgARC03SW) on Thu, 5 Jan 2012 06:27:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my Aero, if I step on the gas before the temperature needle has started to move out of the basement, the engine will "woo-woo-woo" and the tachometer will quickly move between 2800 and 3800 (approximately). TCS light did not come on so this shouldn't be ABS pump related (I hope, been there done that with my last 9-5).
Is this the throttle body limiting rpm while cold? The computer? Just hoping this is normal and not a symptom of impending doom. I shouldn't step on it so hard when the engine is cold anyway.
When my scangauge reported water temperature was 95F this did not occur.
It was cold this morning but this has happened during the summer as well.
