Windshield Washer Blowing Wiper Fuse

Hey all, been having some trouble with my wipers/washer fluid.
First problem is that the washer fluid only gives a few sporadic droplets of fluid here and there, and often doesn't work at all.
However the other day when I was trying to spray the washer fluid, the wipers stopped working. After a quick check I found the fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse, only to pull for washer fluid and have it blow again. I am now on fuse #3 and the wipers work fine, though I am afraid to try the washer fluid as this seems to be what is causing the fuse to blow.
I can hear the washer fluid motor and there are no apparent blockages, I am not sure about the headlight wipers/washer as I do want to blow another fuse to see if they are affected.
I tried searching back in the forum and someone said they had the same problem, though they did not post a solution, any ideas what might be causing this and thoughts on a remedy?
Cheers,
-Alex
