Re: 2003 9.5 Aero Lost Key, SAAB not GM? Posted by jeff02 [Email] (#2992) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jeff02) on Sat, 21 Jan 2012 19:18:07 In Reply to: Re: 2003 9.5 Aero Lost Key, RonL, Sat, 21 Jan 2012 07:43:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Ok, well I agree that this really put a damper on cars not getting stolen, but now, 10+ years later we have to pay $100-$300 for a darn key to start the car. If this is purely SAAB (but have to go to a GM dealer to get a key with VIN) and then have it programmed with a GM TECH II and bring all the keys and sacrifice my largest chicken, etc......
I think they could have come up with a much less costly way to prevent theft.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, love the cars, just hate to have to shell out big dollars to get a key. It's getting to the point where replacing the THRIFT is about the same cost as a new key.
What is the theft rate on Audi's and VWs that have an automatic mating system as long as you have a working key?
