Manual headlight aiming

WIS states that the beam needs to be down 5/7.5CM [halogen/xenon] at 30 feet. One needs a flat and level floor at least 40 feet in length.
Any creative workarounds?
I expect that the adjuster screw will be frozen with grit and will need TLC to avoid damage.
And my driveway slopes down hill...
When driving my wife's 9-5 Aero wagon with her driving my 9-5 Aero wagon behind, the driver's side beam appears a bit too high in the rear view mirror and on coming traffic was flashing their beams in protest. The HID lamps are original, so the problem is not associated with a replacement lamp.
