I think the hp difference is only 30 (Arc has 220 hp for '04-05). I had my ECU swapped on my '05 arc with an aero unit at an indie Saab garage. I have to say, I shouldn't have done it.
My car ran perfectly and was peppy with the original ECU. Once the new one was swapped in, I've been fighting lost boost at times when I need it, and I'm not sure the car is any faster when it is boosting properly. I don't know what the problem is, and neither does the garage. Maybe 18 months after I swapped the ECU, the head gasket failed - I don't know if that was a cause or not.
I would like to chase down the problem with lost boost and retain the aero ECU, but in retrospect, I probably shouldn't have messed with the car in the first place.
