If it ran (briefly) with starting fluid, then it either isn't getting fuel (fuel pump) or the CPS has failed. I understand that the CPS sends a signal to the fuel pump calling for fuel, and if the CPS isn't working, the fuel pump, even if it is working, won't send fuel.
You could pull the fuel pump and test it - apply 12 volts to the proper leads, or replace CPS.
Best of luck troubleshooting.
