If the smoke (bluish) happens at the very first seconds of start up and then goes away and is a few seconds later followed by a whiter type of smoke that disappears into thin air.
The first smoke puff is most likely turbo shaft seals that allow small amounts of oil to pass by while sitting.
If you keep up with oil changes and monitor oil consumption, this can go on for a long time without getting any worth. It is quite a costly procedure to replace the turbo unit with either a whole new one or replacing the center section.
The key is to monitor oil consumption and add oil in between oil changes since this leak will allow oil to pass through at all times. That extra oil into exhaust system will also slowly wear out the catalytic converter so that might be one reason to have it repaired early on.
The whitish smoke later on is normal due to condensation water build up inside engine overnight.
