Well, my .02 is that I hardly ever get much in the way of tread life beyond 20K miles, regardless of what tires I run on my 9-5 Aero sedan. Funny, since my dealer matches TireRack prices (he actually buys them from TR anyhow, and I get a better deal on freight and don't have to hassle around lugging tires here and theere...) I always go back there when it's tire to replace worn out tires. It's RARE that I don't get some kind of significant warranty adjustment.

Over the years, the worst tires, in terms of tread life, were the Dunlop 6000's that were new with this then-newly-CPO'd Aero, tied with the last ones, Toyo Versados, which were shot at 15K miles. No alignment probs, just tires that the dealer said were acknowledged to have tread life "issues." I got about 75% of the price BACK on those!!!

I don't drive that aggressively, and I run Hakkas in the snow, so I dunno why tires just don't seem to last that long. My latest set, installed this morning, is Hankook Ventus V12 EVO. An inexpensive tire (especially with the current rebate), but we'll see... FWIW I'm not the type to drop $1000 on a set of new shoes for the Aero...
