It sounds a little bit strange since the V6 use a different ECU.
It's nothing that you can change with the Tech 2.
If it had shown a B235E instead of R it would have made some sense if someone had been swapping ECU's between different cars in an fault tracing attempt.
That happened to me with a 2001 9-3 when I tested a different ECU and with that you have to program the TWICE unit to the ECU so the car will start again.
During that sync procedure one of the ECU's took the VIN of the other car and then refused to let go when installed back in original car. Both cars started and ran fine and completed readiness but I have no clue why the VIN changed and I found no ways to change it back even though I tried doing an SPS and everything using the TIS system.
Do you know if someone have installed a performance ECU in this car?
