One of my 9-5's gave a 'low coolant' warning during the colder months, I topped it off, but it would keep coming on intermittently even though I wasn't low at all. If you do a search for 'fill coolant msg' -- and see what a couple of folks recommended to me.
I've made the trip from SI to Goshen, CT a few times (which I drive through Litchfield to get to). Beautiful country, and great to open up the 9-5 on those country roads up there (after you break in the engine, of course).
As for Onstar -- they're GM employees not Saab -- and they can be pretty useless about things. You have to figure you might be dealing with someone who doesn't even own or drive a car -- they're just glorified telephone operators. Use Onstar for the year for free, and make your decision when it's time to re-up. Good Luck!
