Hello fellow Saab lovers. I wanted to bid a formal goodbye to the Saabnet site which has proved invaluable to me over the years of Saab ownership. For the record, I really like my new Volvo, but I loved my Saab!

I recently traded my 2005 Arc to North Point Volvo here in Atlanta for a brand new Volvo S-80. Unlike some vindictive or bitter folks who leave Saab on a down note, I hold no ill will to the brand. In fact, owning Saab's changed my life!

My Saab story started in the early 90's on the sultry backroads outside Columbus, GA where my father taught me how to drive stick in a Gray 1985 900. After I graduated college, my father bestowed me his White 1987 900S. Over the next four years, I drove that 900S from sea to shining sea. It was pretty much bullet proof. She sipped gas, and always handled great. In the year 2000, I tried to drive to Atlanta to get an inner driver replaced, but the car would not make it. I ended up at a Saab dealership in Roswell, GA. After they fixed the Saab, I noticed they had a service advisor job available, so I applied. Having previously worked for GMAC, the Saab dealer was an easy fit for me. I have fond memories of the brand new 2000 Saabs getting delivered off the trucks fresh from Brunswick with three miles on the odometers and white plastic covering the hood and cardboard on the floor. Nothing like the smell of that new Saab leather!

A few years later in Atlanta, I met my wife at a fleet leasing company. After we got married, I bought a 2005 Saab 9-5 Arc. The Silver Arc drove like a dream, with ample torque, supportive seats, and superior brakes. I can't say enough good things about the Harmon Kardon Premium Stereo. With those speakers in the dash, and the subs in the back lid, I have never heard another stock system that would beat the 9-5's.

With recent trips to the dealer reporting parts back orders and shortages, I decided to trade the 9-5 in for a new Volvo.
As I said, I really like my new volvo, but I loved my Saab, and will always love Saabs!

Thanks to all the great posts and tips!
