Clunk in transmission Posted by Markatl [Email] (#1833) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Markatl) on Mon, 17 Sep 2012 12:36:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 2004 Arc,going 5mph to 50mph-up and downhill- and coasting in traffic, when i put on the gas there is a clunk and/or a delay before the transmission engages or downshifts- most times. I thought initially it was the level of the tran fluid but have tried all levels. My saab mechanic, after driving it, thinks it is a worn inner driver. There is no shaking or shimmying at high speeds on the highway though. Could it be anything else? Any ideas?
And thanks for the help this past April for diagnosing my leaking head gasket. Only 40,000 miles but indeed that what it was. Thankfully, my new Saab of one year- unknowing at the time I bought it- came with an extended warranty. I have claimed about $5,000 in repairs on it so far and is in the shop again. My great deal would have turned into a not so great deal without it.
