Sounds about right.
If you don't have power at fuse 30 when cranking which is ahead of gear selector switch, it is most likely the ignition switch or a bad wiring or crimps between switch and fuse.
Spraying something into the key hole will not really do much when you see how it is assembled when you take it apart. For the liquid to pass through the key hole, through the gear shift lock out mechanism and into the electrical portion of the switch and then floating sideways out the contacts is just wishful thinking.
