Our '04 Aero seeps from the driver's side where the plastic is crimped to the aluminum. I could smell it when I bought the car but didn't see it until almost 15,000 miles later. Usually it's the seal between the plastic side tank and aluminum core that eventually breaks down. I've seen this happen on several of this type radiator is several different European brands. All these cars had >100k on them. Take a BRIGHT LED light and look down along the driver's side of the radiator just below the upper radiator hose. If the radiator aluminum / plastic joint is all crusty looking and roughly matches the color of your coolant, you found the leak. If not that side, then check the passenger side. If neither then check the hoses. It's not the hoses that go it's usually the plastic fitting on the radiator that eventually cracks and lets go.
You'll need a special tool with a remote jaw on the end of a cable to remove the compression fittings on the hoses as the clearances are TIGHT. Craftsman sells such a tool on line for $35. I'll be doing this job before Thanksgiving. It's not too bad on the 4 cylinder cars, but I hear on the V-6s it's a major operation. Glad I've got a 4. Good luck.
