I love those recent ads with Blake Griffin pitching KIA - some are really funny.
And yeah the 2.0L GDI is the real deal, I have it in a Hyundai Sante Fe Sport I picked up for the wife.
I took over the wife's 2004 9-5 ARC and I have to say though after 32 yrs driving Saabs I prefer it in some ways to the Hyundai, the Saab has it's own sort of personality and in some ways it's almost retro with it's styling, high levels of NVH and things like subframe slop from substandard frame bushings.
The KIA does haul *ss though.
