This is true. On the '99-'01, the side of the headlight lense stuck out from the side of the car about 1/2 inch and allowed reverse illumination. On the '02, the headlight lense is flush with the body. No reverse lights :(. The other picky things I miss from my '99 (or things no longer found in the '02 that were in my '99):

1) Warning triangles in the trunk
2) Tire change pad/flat tire bag (why mess yourself or the trunk with a dirty tire)
3) Tire pressure gage and pen light in the owner's guide
4) Interior of the rear armrest has a cheap felt lining instead of rubber
5) Bigger gas tank (but it sloshes when 3/4 full)

On the other hand, it seems like the '02's sunroof is much quieter when opened with far less wind buffeting, and maybe it's my imagination, but it seems there is slightly more headroom in the '02 (and since I'm 6'4'' every little bit counts).
