1) Remove old hoses
2) Install new.
Sorry, I couldn't resist and the work is almost that simple. I sure wish it was that easy.
Access to the old By-Pass Valve is made in the same manner as if you were replacing the valve. Engine cover off, wiring loom disconnected at big red locking connector then lifted up out of your way.
I recommend also disconnecting the rigid brake vacuum line which connects to the intake manifold. This part is fragile and is right where you need to work. Breaking it will add another $60 to the cost of doing this job.
The hose with the 90-degree bend connects to the end of the engine, the rubber sheath holds the two hoses in proper alignment so you can't cross connect them. On pre-2006 cars you will want/need to remove the battery to access this hose connector.
You must keep the electical solenoid which sends the vacuum signal to the now missing CBV connected electrically. Find a convenient place to neatly tie this up to somewhat hide it. I removed the vacuum line to the valve at the Tee fitting and replaced the Tee with a barbed connector, others place a cap over the open Tee leg.
Cable actuated hose clamp pliers are nearly a necessity for this job. Time consuming, dirty, and difficult access, but not technically challenging.
