without doing the suspension. More than anything else, the suspension, wheels and tires determine the feel of the car, and when any of the three are not up to snuff, the car feels like junk. Even if the cosmetics are a little rough, if it feels good driving, you are happpier
IF you really do want to keep the car that long, do it. Your gauge shouldn't be the cost vs. the market value of the car, your gauge should be the cost vs. the expense of a different car, including depreciation which, to be honest, for your car is at best already at 80% of the original value. If you were to purchase any new car, for example, you will lose more value than the cost of the suspension as soon as you sign the paper, and that much again once you pay the sales tax.
