Open SID is really worth it.
For me the biggest advantage is being able to watch mass air flow [MAF] requested and mass air flow [MAF] actual from the MAF meter. The actual should be chasing the requested. If it is not you have a MAF malfunction that can burn pistons etc.. Without open SID you have no clue.
You don't have to watch it all the time, but it is good to check it once in a while.
The Trionic T7 system works on the ECU requesting a certain amount of airflow for throttle position, RPM, vehicle speed etc..
MAF failure is a real engine killer.
I have a ScanGauge installed as well that gives me 4 other readings out of 40 or so. I usually look at coolant temp, voltage, Horsepower, and one more.
