The coolant level sensor in the reservoir detects the level of coolant in the reservoir. If is too low or if it is disconnected, the display will read to check the coolant level. The computer that the sensor leads are connected to is looking for a reading, and if there is no reading because the sensor is not connected, it will tell you to check the level.
As I said in an earlier post, reconnect the sensor, and make sure that the coolant level in the reservoir is proper (to the seam). If you have fixed your leak, and you have the proper amount of coolant in the reservoir, with the sensor connected, the warning should go away.
