Weird Coolant Temps and no heat issues.... Posted by felchi80 [Email] ![]() ![]() |
So here it goes... a while ago I noticed that the needle for the engine temp would plunge to the bottom from time to time and stay there for a while... then on other days it would work normal again... of course I got the check engine light... I kept driving as is... when it got worse... ie... 90% of time giving bad values or low values... I decided to change the sensor... I bought an OEM part....
Now after changing the sensor... the values are always low when I'm driving... around 45-50C..... I think the normal values are around 90C. (I have the display on the SID) When I stop driving... the temp starts going up... I didn't wait and see if it overheated but it went as high as 90C... On top of this... it seems that I have lost heating inside the cabin... well the air blown is not ICE cold from the outside like it is -15C right now.... but it's not warm either.... feels like around 10C...
Any ideas what's going on here? thermostat? coolant bypass valve? I thought the coolant bypass valves fail when you see it leaking... So thermostat maybe? At this point I'm not even sure the engine temperature sensor is working right... where do the wires go? to the ECM directly? Maybe I have a bad ECM contact?
EDIT: I forgot to mention that ACC calibration didn't show any codes...
