All sorts of cooling problems (saab 9-5 2002 arc (v6))

Hi All,
I originally had a cracked radiator,I replaced is myself (which apparently I'm too stupid to do). I then fillled with coolant and it leaked massively from coolant bypass valve. Replaced the bypass valve. I think started my car without connecting this plug: http://www.twinsaabs.com/9-5_repair/cbv/plug.jpg
Which was stupid, but I doubt catastrophic. Car won't start totally like this, but radiator fan comes on. I then plugged it in properly and started car- car starts but I'm getting a slow coolant leak (fast enough it's gone the next morning, slow enough I can't figure out where) and my radiator fan will NOT turn on. The fuses and relays are good. I have no idea what is going on at this point. The fan definitely works (if the red plug above is unplugged they kick on) and if you turn car on for a little when you turn it off about 5 seconds later you hear the relay switch off, so I know the fan is getting a signal to turn on, it just doesn't. Any thoughts on this mess????
