Hi folks,
(2002 Aero, manual trans.)
A couple of weeks ago, I got the quadruple lights for ABS, ESP, Brake, and the warning triangle (plus no speedometer). I removed the ABS module and sent it to BBA. They emailed back however, to say that it was not repairable. Turns out I have the particularly troublesome ABS model no. which ends in "514."
I went ahead and purchased a used 514 model off of Ebay and installed it this morning. I do now have the speedometer back, but the warning lights remain on. I guess it's possible that I got a bad module from the Ebay seller, but assuming it's not a bad unit, where should I go next to trace the problem?
One thing: I don't think resetting the engine control (via fuse 17) will do anything, since I had the battery removed while I installed the new ABS module.
Two: I *know* that my rear pads *and* rotors need replacing--in fact, I have a new set and hope to install tomorrow. Could thin pads and rotors (and consequent low brake fluid) be triggering the lights?
If I need to buy a non-514 ABS module, will I need to have it married to the car via Tech 2, or would it be a straight swap?
