C/S vehicle leaking oil. Found oil running down timing cover from pass. rear corner of head. R&R HG (Elring brand), plain/deck head, new bolts properly torqued as per WIS. Finish job, send car down the road.
Customer calls back a few days later and says oil on driveway. Brings vehicle back in to the shop, oil visibly leaking from passenger rear corner of head as before. Hm. Re-do job w/ new gasket, this time adding Permatex gasket sealer to that corner of head in hopes of stopping oil leak. Car back together, drove for 10 miles, still leaking.
Vehicle has PCV update #6 and next to no blow by.
Not really sure where to go from here. Timing cover/block joint looked clean with the head off, can't imagine it would be leaking up there.
Seems like we'll throw another gasket at it and end up right where we started. Just looking for thoughts/ideas. Considered old style paper gasket from T5 car but the holes don't line up for the oil/coolant passages.
You can see a little bit of the oil in the photo attached.
